MOM and DAD
(Thanksgiving
Holiday)
I know that within my
heart
Mom and Dad, you are both still here
Holding our hands as we circle the table
To give thanks to the Lord this year
In this world you are no more
Together again you are up above
To Heaven's Gates you both did go
Carried gently on the wings of a dove
No more pain, no more suffering
The darkness is gone replaced with light
Oh Momma, the pretty flowers again you can see
As you walk in that garden where colors are bright
No more pain, no more suffering
The stiffness is gone, the bones are all healed
Oh Daddy the wonderful walks again you can take
As you and Mother stroll in that beautiful field.
You raised us well in a loving home
With a firm hand and a caring heart
You taught us so much, you gave us courage
You wanted us to face the world with a good start
So many precious memories for us you made
That will carry us for a lifetime through
While on this earth as we do remain
Awaiting the day we will meet again with you
I know that within my heart
Mom and Dad, you are both still here
Holding our hands as we circle the table
To give thanks to the Lord this year
