Our Friendship

Several years it has been since our paths first crossed

It began quite naturally, just chatting and having fun

Then as time went on we talked more and more each day

And before we knew it, a close friendship had surely begun

The roads traveled have been met with struggles at times

Each of us withdrawing into a place of solitude to escape

In turning to each other a comfort we could always find

And at times we turned away, allowing a distance to take shape

Turning back the pages of our friendship I see ups and downs

That have presented themselves here and there throughout the years

But through it all the strong bond of our friendship has always survived

In many happy times as well as through some moments of tears

No matter what course each of our lives may have taken or will take

During times of closeness or when distant; for each other we will be there

Giving space when needed and closing the gap when it is not

Each with the knowledge that this special friendship we will always share
