The Storm

Unleashed is the rain from the clouds above
Slamming to the ground with great force
Pounding harshly against the window panes
A line squall - suddenly changing course

Loud rumbles, then cracks like a whip
Split seconds later, jagged lightening from the sky

Mystically brightening, entrancing to view
Fury from the storm, looking you in the eye

With a passion the wind begins to whirl
The roar can be heard depicting its strength

Snap, crack, the tree tops have surrendered
After fighting against the wind at great length

The sky suddenly takes on the hue of red
Another wrath the squall is about to tell
Beating down the earth, hitting with anger
Popping sounds heard as now now comes the hail

As quickly as it came it seems to now be gone
Eerily quiet, all is still, calmness now felt
Momentarily lasting, as through the storm's eye we pass
Another lashing to come, still more fury will be dealt
